SnowmobileRestoration not only involves bringing natural resources back to a healthy condition, it also includes restoring recreational, cultural, and socioeconomic services that may have been lost as a result of harm done by mine-waste contamination. Nearly all of us interact with natural resources in very specific ways, which make the services they provide an important aspect that restoration efforts can address. It is important to note that in order for a service to qualify for restoration it must be related to an injured natural resource.

Recreational

WaterskiServices provided by our natural resources that are recreational in nature can include but are not limited to: swimming, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, camping, ATV use, and winter sports. Restoration may include efforts to bring these services to a more complete state. If you would like to share your views about restoration and how it relates to recreational services, or would like to propose a restoration project regarding recreational services, please click here.

Cultural

dancersServices that are cultural in nature may also be included in restoration efforts. Traditional food gathering, hunting, fishing, harvesting of ‘Wapato’/water potato, and viewing of historical artifacts, both tribal and non-tribal, at area museums, are just some examples of cultural services provided by our natural resources. Economic

Silver MtnServices that are economic in nature can include but are not limited to: recreation and tourism, agriculture, timber harvesting, land development, natural resource education, and on-the-ground restoration work.
